TeenHealthFx cannot diagnose over the internet. We strongly recommend you talk to a parent or trusted adult and see a doctor to get it checked. When an ingrown hair is red, and it “popped” it could mean that there is an infection. It may also need medicine and medical attention to heal safely.

If you need help finding a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist.
