The answer
Everyone’s experience having [vaginal sex for the first time is different. Some may have bleeding and pain. This could happen when the hymen which is a thin piece of skin that partially covers the vagina is stretched. Pain or irritation might occur because the vagina was not lubricated (wet) enough.
If you are still feeling uncomfortable talk to a parent or another trusted adult to determine if you should visit your healthcare professional.
TeenhealthFX would also like to mention the importance of practicing safe sex. We encourage all teens to use condoms every time they engage in any type of sexual activity. Condoms are only 98% in preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections when used correctly and on every sexual encounter.
