The answer
TeenHealthFX understands how confusing some pregnancy tests can be. [Healthline explains that even though a pregnancy test may show a faint line it is still considered to be a positive result.
Since you mention having a “faint line” test and then a negative, we strongly recommend taking another test. When you take the next pregnancy test, make sure it is with the first urination of the morning, and perhaps one that gives a word read out to help make it easier to read the response. Also, tests must be read within the timeframe listed on the instructions packet. Waiting too long to read the result can also lead to errors. In addition, we recommend reaching out to a doctor. He/She will be able to give you a definite answer.
